You will be made very welcome at any of the services at King’s Church. If you have not been to a Church service before or are wondering how King’s might compare to another Church you have been to, the following overview may be of help. If you have any specific questions please just ask or ring the office on 01753 651178.

There are no steps to our buildings so they are easily accessible.

For most of our services we open the doors around 30 minutes before we start and many people like to arrive 10-15 minutes before the service.

On a Sunday there is parking in the Iver Infant School car park which is behind the Village Hall in Grange Road. There is additional street side parking on Grange Road. On weekdays there is a small amount of car parking next door to the King’s building in West Square with other parking available on side roads. Check out the How to find Us page for maps and further directions.

On Sunday mornings adults and children of all ages normally stay together for the first 15 minutes of the service. During this time we often have songs for all age groups and the children can come to the front to be involved. For young children there is a play area with toys available. Then the children go to “King’s Kids” for the rest of the service for fun, games, music, art, crafts, stories and learning from the Bible. There are currently groups for ages up to 10. Under 2’s can stay with a parent in the service but we also offer nursery/creche facilities. The beginning of children’s activities will be announced and King’s Kids leaders will take the children to their groups and bring them back into the service at the end. All our children’s workers are CRB checked.

Most people dress casually, only a few wear ties or “Sunday best”. It’s a very informal atmosphere.

All services will be slightly different but our gatherings usually begin with a welcome and a time of worship (which is mainly singing with some prayer) led by a worship leader and accompanied by a band (a variety of musical instruments are used). We are full of thanks to God for what He has done, excited about what He’s doing and going to do and awestruck by who He is, so we sing to Him and to one another about it! We sing a mix of modern contemporary Christian songs with some older well known hymns. The words are projected up onto a screen so that everyone can see them and join together and we like to express worship in a wide variety of ways. At some point there is an opportunity for people to give financially towards the work of the Church although there is no pressure for visitors to do this.

This is normally followed by a quick update on the activities and events that are coming up in the week and month ahead. We then listen to an inspirational talk on a topic or passage from the Bible as we seek to understand more about our wonderful Saviour Jesus. Towards the end of a service we often offer prayer for healing or for any specific area that has been raised during the service. Other regular members of the Church may also share a message from God. We normally close the service with further worship songs and prayer.

Every few weeks as part of a service we share Communion, which is similar to the Anglican Communion service with bread and wine offered to the congregation to remind us of Jesus’ life changing death and resurrection. We also have regular baptism services where we baptize believers by full immersion.

At each service we also enjoy tea and coffee and cake or biscuits. In the morning this is before the service at 10:15 everyone is welcome.

Most services last between 1hr 30mins to 1hr 45mins but feel free to come and go as you need to.
