We currently hold two services across the week. An overview of each service is detailed below and if you have other general questions about timings, what to wear or where to park you’ll find some answers here.
Our Sunday morning service starts at 10.30am in the Iver Village Hall which is next door to the King’s building. Before the service, from 10:15, we enjoy tea and coffee and cake or biscuits, everyone is welcome. Our gatherings usually begin with a time of worship (which is mainly singing with some prayer) led by a worship leader and accompanied by a band (a variety of musical instruments are used). We sing a mix of modern contemporary Christian songs with some older well known hymns. We like to express worship in a wide variety of ways and actively encourage those regularly attending to contribute as the Holy Spirit leads. Adults and children of all ages normally stay together for the first 15 minutes of the service. During this time the children can come to the front to be involved. For young children we have rug and toys available. Then the children go to ‘King’s Kids’ for the rest of the service for fun, games, music, art, crafts, stories & learning from the Bible. More detail on the children’s groups can be found here.
This is normally followed by a quick update on the activities and events that are coming up in the week and month ahead. We then listen to an inspirational talk on a topic or passage from the Bible as we seek to understand more about our wonderful Saviour Jesus. Towards the end of a service we often offer prayer for healing or for any specific area that has been raised during the service. Other regular members of the Church may also share a message from God. The service normally lasts between 1hr 30 minutes and 1hr 45 minutes. Every few weeks as part of a service we share Communion and also have regular baptism services where we baptise believers by full immersion.
Every other Wednesday there is also a service called ‘Kings Together’ for the older people in the community. The service starts at 2pm and includes a time of worship, sharing and prayer. We often have different people sharing from the Bible. There is opportunity after each service to receive prayer. The afternoon closes between 3:30pm and 4pm with tea and biscuits. Lifts are available for those that need them; please contact the office on 01753 651178 to find out more.
