Our vision statement is that King’s Church Iver will be a God honouring, Christ centred, Spirit filled, Bible living, Kingdom focused, worshipping community that reaches out, loving people to LIFE through proclaiming and demonstrating Jesus Christ and inviting people into loving Christian community, to grow and flourish together as disciples of Jesus.
In one sentence we are seeking to be a Church who are;
LOVING PEOPLE TO LIFE ONE BY ONE
Jesus Christ is LIFE (John 5:39-40), He is the bread of LIFE (John 6:35), He is the way the truth and the LIFE (John 14:6), He has the words of eternal LIFE (John 6:68) and LIFE in all its fullness (John 10:10) can only be known through relationship with God through Jesus Christ. As such we want people to know Jesus for themselves and therefore know LIFE which means lives transformed from the inside out, relationships restored and flourishing communities. We believe that Jesus is the answer to every need.
God is love (1 John 4:7-10) and loves us with an incredible love (Eph 2:4). His love has been demonstrated through giving His only Son (John 3:16) in order that we can have relationship with Him and enjoy Him forever. Because of this we are able to love God back and to love others around us as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:34-40). This love is self sacrificial and is revealed through serving others, meeting physical & emotional needs and proclaiming the truth of Jesus as the only way and the source of all life.
We believe God has called us to love the people He has placed around us, starting at home, where we live, where we work, where we play and wherever God calls us to go. We believe that the transformation of lives effects others around, in other words transformed people transform places. We therefore believe that God wants to transform whole communities to include businesses, shops, schools, churches, families, clubs and every aspect of life as His Kingdom culture is lived in communities of love.
One by One
Whilst we are believing for whole communities to be transformed we recognize that Jesus stopped for the one. We know that God loves each and every person. Therefore every person matters and we will stop for the one person. We will love to LIFE those that God leads us to, we will love them through word and action but always focused on Jesus Christ. Love looks like something and we will seek to demonstrate God’s love to every person.
